Hunting License Application Information
APPLICATION DATES AND DEADLINES
*Elk & Fishing – Online Application begins January 2 and closes January 31st.
*Deer – Online Application begins January 2 and closes May 31st
*Antelope – Online Application begins January 2 and closes May 31st
*Moose – Online Application begins January 2 and closes February 28th
*Bighorn Sheep – Online Application begins January 2 and closes February 28th
*Wild Bison – Online Application begins February 1 and closes February 28th
*Competitive Super Tag Raffle Licenses – Opens July 15, 2017 and closes July 2, 2018
Nonresident Special Elk License
Wyoming statute sets saide 40% of nonresident elk licenses for applicants paying a higher fee. Applicants who pay the extra $576 for a special full price elk license will participate in a separate preference point and random computer drawing.
Fishing License is Free with nonresident full price Elk License
All nonresident full price elk licenses include an annual fishing privilege. Any nonresident hunter who is issued a full price elk license does not need to purchase an additional fishing license once their license is received in March. If you wish to fish prior to receiving your full price elk license, you must purchase a nonresident fishing license.
Hunter Mentor Program
Any person born after January 1, 1966, who has not received a certificate of competency and safety in the use and handling of firearms, may apply to the Department for a special authorization to take wildlife with the use of a firearm while being accompanied by a mentor. This special authorization is available for one year. The acting Mentor may only supervise one person at a time, other than immediate family members and must accompany them at all times.
Hiring Outfitters and Guides
Nonresident big game or trophy game hunters are required to have a professional guide or a resident guide only if hunting designated wilderness areas. Heart 6 Ranch, LLC through Jim Moulton our outfitter is properly licensed under Wyoming Law to fulfill this legal responsibility. Our outfitters license is BG305 and Heart 6 Ranch, LLC is an authorized permittee of the Bridger-Teton National Forest.

This pasture was originally part of the Boggy Bench Ranch and a stopping point along the “Big Gap Trail” it is beleived that this is the path which Lewis and Clark used to traverse the Rocky Mountains on their journel East as contained in the Journals of 1804. The Boggy Bench then became the Buffalo Valley Ranch and later the upper portion of the ranch became Heart Six Ranch while the lower portion remained Buffalo Valley Ranch.
