This pasture was originally part of the Boggy Bench Ranch and a stopping point along the “Big Gap Trail” it is beleived that this is the path which Lewis and Clark used to traverse the Rocky Mountains on their journel East as contained in the Journals of 1804. The Boggy Bench then became the Buffalo Valley Ranch and later the upper portion of the ranch became Heart Six Ranch while the lower portion remained Buffalo Valley Ranch.
